Ingredients:

  • 4-6 Beef Cheeks
  • 3 Tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1-2 cups stock or water
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1-2 cups red wine
  • 3-4 tsp Italian herbs
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2-5 Garlic cloves
  • Olive oil

Method1: Easy way

  1. Slice onions roughly and slice carrot into circles, not too thin.
  2. Then put all ingredients into your slow cooker and stir around till mixed.

Method 2: Queen over for dinner

  1. Slice onions roughly and slice carrot into circles, not too thin.
  2. Heat a heavy base pan or cast iron pot (such as a Chasseur or Creuset) to medium heat. Brown the outside of your beef checks in the olive oil, make sure to use enough to stop them sticking.
  3. Once cheeks are browned throw in the onions and cook them for a few minutes with the lid on so they soften slightly.
  4. Add your Italian herbs for a minute to release the aroma. Now add your wine and stir, cook for a minute or two until it mostly reduces.
  5. Now throw everything in the pot and stir until mixed.
  6. Cook in an electric slow cooker on lowest temp for 4-6 hours or in your cast iron pot for 8 hours @ 85 degrees in the oven.
